The second “Argentinian-German Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar” aims at bringing together scientists from Argentina and Germany to discuss outstanding challenges in the investigation of quantum matter from both experimental and theoretical perspectives. In recent years, this research area has experienced remarkable growth, encompassing a broad range of platforms and applications, including superconducting qubits and circuits, artificially engineered heterostructures and interfaces, cold-atom systems, optomechanical systems, edge states in topological matter, and strongly anisotropic bulk materials.
The central theme of the meeting is to identify and discuss common physical principles underlying these diverse yet closely related platforms. While these phenomena lie at the core of condensed matter physics, they are also highly relevant to fields such as quantum information science, materials engineering, and atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics.
The conference language will be English. The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Foundation bears the cost of full-board accommodation for all participants.
