Exploring the Frontiers of 2D Materials Beyond Graphene

Indian-German WE-Heraeus-Seminar

20 Sep - 25 Sep 2026

Where:

Hotel Vivanda Goa, India

Scientific organizers:

Prof. Dr. Rolf Haug, University of Hannover, Germany ∗ Prof. Dr. Preeti A. Bhobe, Indian Institute of Technology Indore, India

The primary objective of this seminar series is to advance research and collaboration at the intersection of two-dimensional (2D) materials and quantum technologies. By bringing together early-career researchers and established scientists from Germany, India and abroad, the workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, showcase cutting-edge developments, and explore the potential of 2D materials in next-generation quantum applications.

This initiative supports capacity-building, strengthens Indo-German academic partnerships, and contributes to the goals of Germany’s and India’s quantum missions by cultivating expertise in quantum-enabled material science and device innovation. A strong foundation in 2D material research serves as the driving force behind organizing this focused workshop with lecture series, bringing together emerging and established researchers in the rapidly evolving field of 2D materials and quantum technologies.

The conference language will be English. The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Foundation bears the cost of full-board accommodation for all participants.
