FPSP XVI aims to offer about one hundred doctoral students
and young researchers an in-depth understanding of current key issues and recent problems in statistical physics, as well as to provide a comprehensive view of future research directions in this field. To achieve these goals, the school will present a series of 10 courses taught by internationally renowned experts, covering recent advances both in well-established topics in statistical physics and in completely new areas of interest emerging, e.g., in biophysics, in artificial intelligence and in quantum computation; some lectures will also address experimental implications. The intent is to familiarize students with open questions in these areas. The lectures will be complemented by 9 seminars given by invited researchers, who will present the most recent developments in their respective areas of research.
