The Nature and the Dynamics of Structures Observed in Galactic Disks

WE Heraeus-EAS Early Career Researchers in Astronomy Workshop

15 Sep - 20 Sep 2024

Where:

Academy of Athens, Greece

Scientific organizers:

Dr. Panos Patsis, Research Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Athens (RCAAM)

The HERA workshops (WE Heraeus-EAS Early Career Researchers in Astronomy) are a recent initiative started by the European Astronomical Society (EAS) and funded by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Foundation. This workshop series will provide an environment where early career scientists are trained to interact, design research projects, develop a broad perspective and start international collaborations.

The second workshop in this series will be organized by the Academy of Athens. The EAS invites early-career European scientists (less than 5 years after their PhD), working in the field of galactic dynamics to apply for the workshop.

The participants will achieve plenty of time to present their research, start collaborations with local scientists and the 5 invited senior review speakers. There is no registration fee and the WE Heraeus-Foundation will reimburse the local expenses of all participants.
